New Photography Website

Welcome to the new MJVPHOTO photography website! 

Photography is such a passion for me.  It gives me the ability to spark emotion in people that look at my work.  I have been interested in it since I was a small kid.  Photography energizes my days. Hopefully you see some of that energy in this site.

That said, the last few months have been a photo journey of a different kind for me, hence the new website.  I reached the point where I wanted my photo website to do more so I could reach more people, and have greater flexibility with how my work and voice gets displayed.  I moved on to create my own website using WordPress with no knowledge of how WordPress even worked.  At times I felt like I was making a big mistake, especially the times where I was digging into code to try to understand why the appearance didn’t look quite right, or even better the hours spent trying to make the menu font the correct color from page to page.

The goal of this site is for me to be able to display my photography so others can see it.  I also want to share my knowledge of photography.  Whether it is what I learned in school, or what I have learned while out on commercial gigs, or fine art adventures, teaching is something that is important to me.  I intend to use the blog section share my knowledge and experiences.  I hope that there is good discussion in the comments as well, and others share their voice.  It has been amazing to see how the medium has evolved over the years.
